TACO Rub Rail Replacement Kits have a universal design that fits many different boat models. TACO Flexible Vinyl rub rail is easy to bend and provides a soft cushioning effect against normal bumps from pilings and docks. The rail comes in a continuous coil for seamless application and is easy to install using basic tools.
TACO uses the highest-grade vinyl compounds that incorporate prime virgin resins, U.V. inhibitors, plasticizers, fungicides, impact modifiers and other additives that assure outstanding weatherability and performance. Parts exposed to accelerated weather pass 2500kj in a Xenon arc weatherometer and 500 hours of QUV testing.

I would like to mount the Rub Rail upside down so that the lower lip on rail overlaps the top of the gunwale. Is there a particular problem that would cause?
Doesn'the sound like a good idea.Presumably water and crud would get under the lip unless you sealed it which may not work very well. Trapped water would be an issue in cold climes. Also think that it will damaged quite easily.
I have to say no the lip is to cover the seam on upper deck and lower hull where they come together the screws holds them in place as well as the rub rail
I dont know if I can answer because I dont know what boat he is using. Depends on where the fasteners are.sorry i couldnt be more help. Mine works great but in the upright position
can you tell me exactly which rub rail will fit on my 1986 century grande300.i want the flexible rub rail with black tube insert?Tks Steve
Yes pls send pic
Rub rail is generic.Check for length [single roll] and gunwale dimensions. Note lower lip on molding. How does it compare with existing rub rail.
The rail fit perfectly on my 2001 30 foot Mirage, I can send pics if you'd like?
CAN YOU INSERT ANCHOR LINE INSTEAD OF RAIL INSERT ?
Hi Bernie S......Yes u can but u must have a bit bigger size rope as ur insert and very dense or u can buy a rope insert
My original rub rail had anchor line in the insert. When I put the TACO rub rail on I played around with anchor line but in the end used the black plastic insert for two reasons. One, the rope gets dirty over time and will need to be replaced especially if you are hauling a lot of "stuff" over the gunwale. Two, the insert is quite narrow compared with the rub rail itself. A solid black rub rail looked better than the narrow white line of the anchor line.My original rub rail did use a larger diameter rope insert so it looked better balanced.End comment. I suspect that you can use anchor line but it may not look very good. Could always try using a short length and see what you think.Richard
My boat is 32ft. Is the 70ft length enough. And is it 70ft x2 ins ?. Just want to make sure before I purchase.
Make sure you include the transom width if it is covered with the rubrail. Otherwise you will be short a few feet. Having an extra set of arms like a friend to pull the new rub rail tight helps. Also two drill motors. One with a drill bit. The other with a phillips bit to drive the screw. Hope this helps. Jack
Our boat is only 27 ft. So we had extra lentth. I found it no prblem to instal.
Thanks Jon. First time doing this
Rub Rail Replacement
I had to muster courage to buy this replacement. It was expensive and the descriptions and pictures were marginal at best. My wife and I installed the new rail in an afternoon and it worked like a charm. Looks as good as the original and was easy to install.
