i need this switch in a stab on?
Sorry, I do not recognize the "stab". The ignition as shown is a standard ignition as used in cars, trucks and boats. Full twist to right is start and it automatically returns to run when released. Turn key to left for off and ignition lock.
I don't understand the question!
I have a 1994 skeeter bass boat w/150 mercury outboard.I lost the ignition key.First is this the ignition switch I need? Any other options? Can a novice install this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can not give you an answer with out more information. Do you have the owners manual? You need a switch that fits in the mounting hole on you specific model motor. It also needs the same number of contacts & switch functions(off/on/start for example) as you current switch. Finally the amp. rating needs to match your switch as these switches draw a large current. I bought this switch knowing it would not fit the special hole in the diesel control panel and had a difficult time retro fitting it.I have 2 suggestions. Do a Google search on your engine make & model-ignition switch i.e, "150 hp Mercury Outboard ignition switch" and you will get a large number off good sites where you can find the switch you need.Call a reputable locksmith or Mercury dealer & see if they can make a key.Good Luck
U have to have a key. Yes it is easy to install. Hope this helps.
This ignition switch will do fine. The old key is not a part of repair. The wiring is simple pull off each wire and install at same terminal on the new ignition and tighten the nut on back. I am looking at the package and the part, nothing difficult.
Very happy with my purchase and will definitely contact Jamestown again!
