I use the radio during races. It is easy to store in the cockpit, out of the way, while still being at arms length.

Dissapointed

Dissapointed with product. Radio dropped about 2 feet on to deck of boat and the on/off switch broken. Not very durable radio considering the environment it is typically used in.

I would buy this product again and again

I use it for hunting. With the clip on the side its easy to use in the woods. It also has long enough range so you can stay in touch.

Does what it's suppose to...

I use this radio for sailing. Functions great! I have a hearing problem, so the best thing for me is the voice transmissions are clear and easy to understand. I don't think I could have picked a better hand held marine radio for the money.

Had it for many years and very reliable

This was for day sailing and cruising over a 5 year period ([@]and found it to be very reliable. It was doused with salt water spray dozens of times. Last week I dropped it overboard in about 5 feet of water an it took about half an hour to retrieve and does not seem to be working too well anymore. I see you can still get one for about $75 and I may just buy another one.

Flimsy steel parts

The AC and DC adaptors as well as female plug in radio rusted well within the warranty period. Their customer service did nothing saying it was due to salt water??? Even the AA battery insert rusted and the radio never got wet. Must be the salt air.

Super price for excellent product

Look at the top end hand held radios and make a list of things you like. Then read the things this unit has. NO reason to pay double or triple when it is available in this unit. It has even more features than the company lists. Excellent radio.
