Does this fitting have threads inside the opening ? If so what size .
no, just a barb with no interior threads.
I don't know. It was a gift.
There are no internal threads
No, this fitting is smooth walled on the inside. It is made for a hose with a hose clamp.
No, the only threads are on the exterior near the mushroom flange.
No, just two notches inside to keep in place while tightening.
should you use 5200 sealant or a rubber gasket ?
I used neither. The exit was above the waterline, so I just tightened the nut. It seems to be okay. If you want a better seal, I would suggest straight silicone, on the inside. 5200 would be too permanent. Or perhaps just apply some epoxy on the inside of the hole.
Hello,Yes I did use a small bead of 5200 on outside.
I'm no expert, but I used 5200 and it has worked just fine. KAJ
I use LifeSeal. It seals great and is not 100% permanent. If you had to remove the fitting for any reason, you'll be glad you did not use 5200.
5200, just clean the surface before applying.
I am an amateur but that said, if I ever wanted to be able to remove the fitting, I would not use 5200. 5200 is one of the best adhesive sealants I've ever known but it will de-laminate and tear apart epoxy-fiberglass before it lets go.
If you are using this as a true thru-hull, I would recommend a sealant like 5200.
I would not recommend 5200 or a silicone based sealant, especially above the water-line. If you want to seal it, use a bit of butyl (rubber) tape. I bed ALL my deck fittings with it.
Does this fitting come with the TH Marine drain filter as well?
No it does not.
It does not come with a filter.
how long is the threaded part on the 1 1/8 fitting?
i just checked it both ways with the nut just started is about 1.5" and without the nut you have 1.7/8 thread hope this helps you
It's a 3/4" fitting. The threaded part is 1" long.
Is the thru hull. Plastic or coper , I bought a Bunch of thru hulls
15/16th's exactly. The nut that comes with it is 7/16th's thick, leaving 1/2 inch for hull and gasket.
how deep is the measurement from the flange to the 90?
The distance is 1 1/2 inches or 3.8 cm
1-15/16" from the bottom of the flange to the center of the 90 degree elbow.
Does what it needs to do
Pretty straightforward. I was upgrading my bilge system and needed a 90 fitting since the new discharge hose was thicker and less bendable. Sizes are confusing but when I contacted the seller, they helped me find the right part.
Handy in tight places
This fitting is just what I needed for my bilge pump system. The 90 degree angle allows me to attach the stiff hose properly without kinking it.
these are plastic !
it says they are chrome plated, but they are just silver colored plastic. save yourself the extra dough and buy the white plastic ones.
