Soundown Composite Insulation Vinyl/Foam Sheets

Soundown composite foam and vinyl insulation sheets effectively quiet and dampen noise created by engines, generators, and other equipment. Sheets are available in 27 square foot size sheets and feature a vapor barrier to lock out any unwanted odors.

Insulation sheets are composed of a layer of mass loaded vinyl sandwiched between two layers of polyether fire retardant foam, and then covered by a thin white vapor barrier. Use to reduce vibration and noise from marine machinery that may produce significant bass and midrange frequencies such as engines, generators, and pumps.

Comments about Soundown Composite Insulation Vinyl/Foam Sheets:

I'm trying to reduce engine noise from a 289 cid 1965 Interceptor. Looks like a product that will improve upon what was there when I purchased my project boat.

Comments about Soundown Composite Insulation Vinyl/Foam Sheets:

Good product to replace most all of my weathered and deteriorating insulation in my boat. Had to replace blades very often as the foam is a blade killer, so stock up if the project is big. No problems encountered.

Comments about Soundown Composite Insulation Vinyl/Foam Sheets:

Added the Sounddown composite insulation to the engine compartment of a 2013 Yamaha 242 Limited boat. It did a good job of reducing noise level coming out of engine area. Glued in place in overhead sections and also used screws on sections that needed to be removed for maintenance. The rubber matting works well with screws.
