The Robship Hook & Moor Boat Hook was engineered to make threading a mooring line easy and efficient. Simply push or pull the hook onto the mooring ring and the hooking mechanism does the work, eliminating the need for messenger, loading, or guide lines. In addition, it can be used as a standard boat hook when in its locked position.
Made of glass fiber reinforced plastic and aluminum, the Robship Hook is fully buoyant. The telescopic versions compact to 115cm in length when folded. Both 6ft and 9ft sizes collapse to lengths of 45 inches.

I managed to break my husband's new hook with one wrong pull !can you tell us how to repair a hook that is stuck in a halfway out position ??
Make sure the bail at the top is not in the Red button so the button pops out. That should allow it to move back. If it's the handle, press the red buttons on the handle in and it will compress.

may I buy just the head? I have the pole, but lost the head-I have the 9 foot pole
I don't know the cost for the head or if it's Still a goog product to be replaced or repaired
I have no way to know that, you would have to contact the manufacturer.
What size line will this handle??
It will easily handle a 2 1/2" line
I use it for 5/8"
This will easily handle a 1/2" line, but there is no way it is going to work with a 2 1/2" line.
I use 5/8 lines and it works fine. I would think 3/4 would work, but I've never tried it.
Having trouble with spelling carabiner = U shaped thing. It would take a good sized mooring line. But ideal with likely be the size in the video, We used a smaller line 5/8 and grabbed a mooring ball ring then later ran through a larger line. We have a 45 foot Hunter that has significant windage so we use over sized lines. It worked well, but one has to be sure that the U shaped part holding the line does not get on the wrong side of the cleat or ring. If that happens it will not function. Best is to practice a few times on land before a "real" use.
I have not used it yet.
We have a 3 inch pipe type mooring at our dock. Will the opening of this unit fit over a pipe type fitting this large?ThanksCapt. Sandy
No, definitely not.
What is the largest size pipe it will fit around?
We didnt buy this from Jamestown and wish we had. After only a couple of uses the mechanism stopped working. We have tried emailing the manufacturer to no avail. Buying it was an expensive mistake
This is my 2nd 9' boat hook from Hook & Moor
I gave this as a gift for a friend with a 65' Grand Banks. He is an Alaska to Mexico traveler and was delighted to have this onboard.
Solved Our Hookup Problems
The Hook & Moor performs exactly as the manufacturer claims. We ordered the 3 metre model and I can now easily access mooring buoys from up on the bow. Certain cleats and dock rings are also accessible from the cockpit or bow. It is extremely well-made and cleverly designed to thread dock lines through and around buoy rings or dock cleats. The only negative I have found is that in recreational boating, most often it is a female such as myself, handling the lines. The Hook & Moor, although the simplest/easiest pole I have ever used to retract or extend to different lengths, is, for quality purposes, heftier than other telescopic poles. That makes it a bit harder for smaller hands to hold. I worry that I might lose it to the deep one day. That would be a pricey loss.

Robship Hook and Moor doesn't last
Had the Hook and Moor a little over a year. It no longer will open and close properly. So now it is an ordinary boat hook. Poorly made product
Very well made.
Great tool for your boat
Works just like in the videos
Great product. Well built and works just like in the videos. Saves so much time and effort for the Admiral
Tremendous piece of equipment
Very well constructed. Worth every penny.
The rod would not open so it's only good for a small boat. This was the second sent to me.
Way too expensive for a product not working as advertised. Got another one for $41.00
