Basically design is great and many options to connect my last one lasted over 10 years and float switch ( mercury ) still was working but decided to replace whole unit instead of just pump. did not last one season float switch makes pump cycle with out water checked switch manually switch is clear but and seamed to work, as I crawled out of bilge I herd it cycle again. I have seamed some reviews on reed switch problems. This rule unit although well designed has major flaw in float switch.

I would recommend this unit anytime.

Replaced the original on my 1988 Bertram 28. Although the pump was slightly different model the overal configuration matched the original for easy fit.
