what is the weight capacity? access panels are 32" x 32". Wood floor over plywood sub-straight.
Asked on 07/25/2013 by UndisclosedNot exactly sure what the weight capacity is ... but I used two of the handles for exactly the same purpose ... for a 3ft square access cover to a crawl space. The access cover is made of 1 1/4 in plywood with a layer of Pergo flooring on top.
Answered on 07/25/2013 by JOHN HALEYI used this for a 28"x48" access door which was heavy...consisted of 3/4" plywood sub-layer with 3/4" T&G hardwood nailed over that...so door was 1 1/2" thick ...very heavy...handle worked fine...I used 1 1/4" screws to attach it
Answered on 07/25/2013 by DAVID CEDRONEThe largest hatch I installed mine on was approx. 12" X 36" made of 5/4" fir over 5/8" plywood. So far so good!
Answered on 08/10/2013 by JOSEPH AND ROBIN WHITCOMBDon't know what the weight is but our hatch door is similar and the handle lift is enough to crack it open so we can grab and lift the panel up. Key is making sure the screws grab into real wood so that it holds.
Answered on 07/25/2013 by JOHN YEEThere is no capacity on the handle. I used these for a 2 x 2 foot section of redwood deck and they are working great. However you might consider a larger size for easier pulling
Answered on 07/26/2013 by CHRISTOPHER KRAMERI have them on a hatch about 36x48, 2 layers if plywood plus half inch bamboo floor.very heavy, no problem
Answered on 07/26/2013 by RANDALL TONNENeed this for crawl space lift door. The current one allows you to only lift with two fingers. I believe this would allow for at least four fingers? What is the ring dimension?
Asked on 04/15/2012 by UndisclosedI don't have the latch handle in front of me, as I have installed in on my boat engine hatch, which is quite heavy and large. I can fit three fingers in the ring, which has made raising the hatch much easier. The latch handle is quite sturdy and I anticipate it will last for years.
