Info & Guides

New stem/handle design permits 180° rotation for opening in either direction.

VALVE MAINTENANCE:

All our valves are non-corrosive, but like any moving part in a marine environment, they required regular inspection and lubrication. Do not fail to actuate the handle and lubricate the seals on a regular schedule (water pump grease or even mineral oil will lubricate seals).

Bottom and top connections are NPS (straight) thread. The use of products with NPS (straight) pipe thread is recommended only for low pressure applications, and then only with a generous application of pipe sealant or PTFE thread tape.

All critical hose connections should be double clamped at both ends. Ideally, the hose clamp screws should be mounted opposite one another for maximum security. Use the highest quality AWAB hose clamps for longest life and best performance.

Lubricate
By Marcelo from Chile

I recently bought a J105 with these Seacocks. It seems that the previous owners did not operated the seacocks for years. I currently have the boat in freash water and would like to lubricate the seacocks while the boat ius in the water. Is this possible? I also have had a problem with one of the seacocks. While I was opening it, I end up with the handle in my hand. The seacock remained closed. How can I address this problem?

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Excellent long life seacock
By PaulM from Portsmouth, RI

Marelon is a good substitute for bronze seacocks. It is unaffected by electrolysis- so there is no need for a bonding wire. Also, corrosion of any kind is not a problem. A light lube from time-to-time is all the service needed.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
