Question

Would this unit be installed in a plastic tank that has no sending unit?

Asked on 03/11/2013 by Don Schuckert

Top Answer

I installed the sending unit in a plastic fuel tank that already had a sending sending unit in it. It was a built in 12 inch in depth plastic fuel tank.

Answer

I used this unit to replace an existing one in a plastic tank. I think if you set it according to the directions and have a good seal between the tank and unit it should be fine. My tank was thicker where the unit attached and had threaded holes for the bolts.

Answered on 03/14/2013 by JOSEPH HINES

Answer

yes because the unit is its' own sending unit.

Answer

I installed mine in a aluminium tank that already had a manuel fuel gauge. If you have to drill in order to fit the sending unit i dont know how you will be able to hold the nuts in the tank. I would not install without bolts and nuts

Answered on 03/13/2013 by MICHEL DUBE

Answer

good day, According to me, the moller sending units can not be fit it on plastic tank. The tank must be drill and tap. So, if you have enough of thickness, why not. Otherwise, not possible. Perhaps better to find the ultrasonique sending unit regards

Answer

Size of hole should be in the instructions with the unit; however, it is usually 1.5 inches.

Answer

I already had a hole in my tank. I can't measure it without uninstalling it. It just needs to be big enough to place the sender in the tank and small enough to allow the mounting screws to sttach. Ben

Sorry. Can't answer this question. I installed this in an 85 gallon in-hull tank. I woud expect the mounting hole pattern to be ok though. Elliot Barber

I do not know. Mine does not work

Answered on 07/15/2013 by JOSEPH MCCORMACK

Answer

It was on the one I did. Most holes in those tanks are standard. Should work if your tank has the same number of mounting screws.
