Can I apply your ultra clear varnish over Cabot gloss Spar varnish for the inside and decks of my wooden canoe ? Any what type of brushes do I use to apply it?

I really don't know the answer to that. I would call the manufacturer to see if the varnishes are compatible. I am using a foam roller and foam brushes for the application of Z Spar.

Yes but the shine must be removed, 0000 steel wool or equivalent. I used a top quality China bristle brush, but any one that holds a good charge of varnish should be fine. Some people complain it is not clear but I have used this product on many woodand fiberglass surfaces and love it. Good luck.
